New York, NY, January 14, 2009: Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company, Inc., home to the catalogs of Elvis Presley, John Denver and Quincy Jones, has signed a North American sub-publishing agreement for the prestigious Edizioni Curci Catalog. Edizioni Curci is one of the largest, oldest independent Music Publishing companies in Italy. It was founded in 1860 by members of the Curci family and it is still run by its descendants. Edizioni Curci continues to be very active in the world-wide market by signing new, important Italian and international writers such as Tiziano Ferro, who was awarded the Latin BMI Award in 2004 for his album “Rojo Relativo” and in 2006 for his single “Tardes Negras.”

The catalog boasts concert, popular, classical and educational music by noted Italian writers, including “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me,” the international hit recorded by Dusty Springfield (covered by Elvis Presley among others), and the Grammy Award winning “Volare” ("Nel blu dipinto di blu") famous for the classic Dean Martin rendition. The catalog also contains “Libertango” by the late composer and bandoneon player Astor Piazzolla; Grace Jones recorded a version with the title “I’ve Seen That Face Before” which became an international hit. Songs in the Curci catalog have also been performed and recorded by Italian legends Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli.

In announcing the agreement, Mike Connelly, EVP of Business Development at Cherry Lane, commented: “Cherry Lane is very pleased to represent a catalog that contains so many culturally significant songs. We look forward to working with this prestigious catalog.”

“After extensive review by Edizioni Curci of potential United States subpublishers, Curci is delighted to have concluded an agreement with Cherry Lane,” commented Alfredo Gramitto Ricci, CEO of Edizioni Curci and Michele Del Vecchio, Managing Director of Edizioni Curci.

The deal was negotiated by Mike Connelly and Keith Hauprich, VP of Business Affairs for Cherry Lane and Alfredo Gramitto Ricci, Michele Del Vecchio, Raphael Attar, Consultant for International Business Affairs, and Adelfa Lanfranchi, Manager Int’l Publishing Dept. for Edizioni Curci.

Cherry Lane is also the sub-publisher for catalogs such as Strictly Confidential.
